Many astonishing announcements were made the at the 2002 San Diego Comic Con.






Nine Miyazaki Films to Air on Turner Classics Movies

These are many of the major anime news highlights from this years Comic Con:

It has officially been confirmed that Big O 2 will be airing this fall on the Adult Swim Action block instead of Toonami.

Among the other new shows planned to air on
the Adult Swim Action block are:

  • Inu-Yasha
  • Char's Counterattack
  • Ghost in the Shell (TV)

    Also, new episodes of Yu Yu Hakusho are slated to air latter this year on the Adult Swim Action block.


    Cartoon Network is dead-set on acquiring the rights to air the Cowboy Bebop movie, after it makes it's theatrical release in 2003. Also, the Cartoon Network is currently negotiating negotiating with Sunrise Animation to create all new Cowboy Bebop episodes specifically for American release. Altough the series creators expressed their intentions last year, to not continue the series.

    A Japanese Producer working with Raijin Comics claims that there will be a new anime shown simultaniously both here and in Japan after this September. The series will be shown here on Cartoon Network. Details about this new show will be revealed at Nan Desu Kan where will be a guest at.

    The Cartoon Network will be partnering with Viz and Shonen Jump to host the "Adult Swim Reactor", a new website that will feature manga samples from the American Shonen Jump magazine, and streaming ( possibly subtitled ) anime episodes.
