Roland Emmerich -- the director of such films as Independence Day, Godzilla, Stargate, Universal Soldier and The Patriot-- has long been rumored as the directorial choice for the long awaited live action Dragon Ball Z movie. That rumor has finally gained credence, after IMDb has confirmed his involvement by adding him to the films cast and crew listing. Also according to IMDb, Tedi Sarafian (T3) is credited with writing the script based off the original story created by Akira Toryama. The site currently list the films developement status as in pre-production, with a tentative 2004 release date. We'll continue to follow the development of this project as new details are made available.
